Classic Napa Tank House Needs New Home!

Wouldn't you love to have this classic Napa water tank house on your property? Not exactly free, as it will cost about $20,000 to move it, but still - you could not build it for that. Base of the tank house is 14 feet square, height is about 38 feet, and it needs to be moved from its location in the City of Napa before July 31, 2009. Information is posted on the Napa County Landmarks group facebook page, and will be posted on the Landmarks web site next week. I will forward any serious requests to the owners.

If you live in Australia or Connecticut, the moving expense may be prohibitive!

8 hands

Saturday was a day of vigorous ensemble piano music, with two Beethoven Symphonies (#3 and #7), Haydn, Mendelsohn, and Tchaikovsky. Here's a little clip of some Beethoven.

I have had to learn how to convert .mov files to a format that will work on youtube...

John made some delicious blueberry muffins to greet the other pianists - then later we has a lunch break for chicken salad, cold poached salmon, vegetables, fruits, "Arnold Palmers", and ginger ice cream and blueberry frozen yogurt for dessert. There was plenty of sustenance for such exertion.

... or a brick

Another choral music post, this time with a direct window to a Columbia University version of "Brick" by Ben Folds. I prefer this arrangement to the one Ben Folds liked. Not so much "beat box" - and it has female voices!

Hit by a boomerang

It happens... cast or launch the kids into the world, and sometimes they land like a boomerang at 10pm during a dinner party. Without much warning - blam!

For the next couple of months, we tiptoe around the now adult child - familiar (if not regressed) in some ways, and wildly evolved in others. Is this something to wish for or dread? We shall see in a few weeks. It is sort of like a lab experiment. Remember the mold project?
